This event is part of the CFNS Workshop/Ad-Hoc Meeting series. See the CFNS conferences page for other events.

This workshop focuses on the extraction of the strong coupling constant, 𝛼s, at the Electron-Ion Collider and other future high-energy physics colliders. Discussions will cover inclusive Deep Inelastic Scattering (DIS) measurements, theoretical approaches, detector capabilities, and projections for next-generation facilities. Key topics include advancements in precision measurements, challenges in reducing systematic uncertainties, and implications for Quantum Chromodynamics at different scales.

Topics:

  • Sensitivity studies for 𝛼s at the EIC
  • Challenges and opportunities in reducing uncertainties
  • Implications for QCD and new physics

Organizing Committee:

  • Salim Cerci (Yildiz Technical University)
  • Zuhal Seyma Demiroglu (CFNS, Stony Brook University)
  • Abhay Deshpande (CFNS, Stony Brook University & BNL)
  • Paul Newman (University of Birmingham)
  • Deniz Sunar Cerci (Yildiz Technical University)
  • Sara Taheri Monfared (DESY)
  • Katarzyna Wichmann (DESY)

Administrative Support:
