By air: The nearest large airports are John F. Kennedy (JFK) and LaGuardia (LGA), which are similar distances from campus. From either, you will need to travel by car or train to reach campus.

By train: The Long Island Railroad (LIRR) "Stony Brook" station, on the "Port Jefferson" line, is adjacent to campus (B-3 of the map).

If traveling from JFK airport, take the AirTrain to "Jamaica" station and transfer to LIRR to "Stony Brook" station.

If traveling from LGA airport, take the Q70-SBS bus to "Woodside Ave", walk the short distance to "Woodside" station and take the LIRR to "Jamaica" station, transfering there to the Port Jefferson line to "Stony Brook" station. Other routes may be available at various times of day.

By car: take the Long Island Expressway (Route 495) to Exit 62, then follow Nicolls Road (Route 97) north for 9 miles. Navagation address set to "100 Nicolls Road, Stony Brook, NY, 11790", or drop pin on your map refering to the parking map.

Other: 1) Ferries from Bridgeport, Connecticut to Port Jefferson, Long Island and from New London, Connecticut to Orient Point, Long Island; 2) local airport Long Island's Islip-MacArthur Airport is 16 miles from the campus. Recommended mode to travel to campus is by Uber/Lyft.
